Oh Ruth you little liar, I bet you haven't been back since. I know a bunch of thermogenic foods helps with the fat/weight loss as they raise your metabolism briefly to deal with the temperature. Same goes with cold foods which is part of the reason I freeze my vitamins and supplements. Definitely have to keep your basal metabolic rate higher than the calories you are taking in to fuel that bmr. Thanks for the link to the book.
