Weight Loss Tip: More, is not better.

More is not better, this rule can be applied to almost anything in life.

You see it many times in the gym, people working out or doing cardio for 2 hours or more, thinking that if they workout more they will burn more fat. If this was true, you can spend 5 hours and get faster results, which is not. Everything in life is about balance, the workout time, food and rest, for your metabolism to work properly.

Here's an estimate on how your body burns fat:
The first 20 minutes of you workout your body uses carbohydrates for energy, 20- 50 your body starts to burn fat as energy, after more than 55 minutes muscle breakdown begins. At this point doing more will not benefit you. In order to have your body more efficiently burn fat, you need to keep more tone muscle mass. That is why it is also very important for you to consume protein after working out. Eating protein after working out helps your body repair itself and keeps it in an anabolic state (building muscle, burning fat). So, think again when you are about to over train...More, is not better!
